A country property should make daily life easier, from the front gate to the workshop. DMC works with owners planning custom homes, farmhouses and barndominiums in Vincent, bringing the residence, barns, outbuildings and the routes between them into one coordinated project.
Full design-build · Site review · Paid preconstruction
01 · Start with movement
Plan the approach, not just the address.
Where will visitors park? How will deliveries reach the home? Can a trailer or equipment turn near the barn without backing through the family yard? These questions help establish the relationship between the driveway, house and working areas of the property.
DMC reviews proposed access against the ground and the project scope. Existing drives may need a closer look for grade, drainage and construction use before they become the assumed route for heavy deliveries and everyday traffic.
Give living space and working space their own place.
Your country home can include generous porches and outdoor living while also making room for useful storage. Think about views from the house, the walk to a detached shop and where equipment will be parked. Those decisions should be deliberate rather than left to the end.
For barns and outbuildings included in the custom-home project, define how each building will be used. A simple storage area and a serviced workshop create different scope questions. Resolve the intended use before drawings and budgets assume the wrong building.
03 · Build in a sensible sequence
Coordinate the home with the supporting work.
Site preparation, utilities, house construction and outbuildings need a coordinated sequence. DMC offers full design-build services, coordinating design, site planning, budget and construction with architects and engineers as needed. Paid preconstruction maps these relationships before an early trench, driveway or pad constrains later work.
Bring both your immediate plans and your longer-term ideas. A project can distinguish current construction from future improvements while still accounting for access and space that would be difficult to recreate later.
A project-fit review establishes the next step. Detailed site evaluation, budgeting and coordination are paid preconstruction work.
Can we use an existing driveway or utility connection?
Possibly. The existing condition, location and suitability for the new home need review. Share what is already on the property so DMC can identify the questions that should be resolved before relying on it.
Will DMC plan a barn with our Vincent home?
Yes. Barns, workshops and other outbuildings can be considered within the overall custom-home project. Describe their intended uses and timing so their scope can be coordinated with the house.
What if our property is near Logan Martin Lake?
Tell us whether it is waterfront or simply nearby. A waterfront project introduces shoreline and access questions that do not apply to every Vincent property. Our Logan Martin page explains the separate planning focus.
